To celebrate my birthday and the completion of the three day detox of maintaining a net calorie consumption of 1000 a day and having no sugar / refined foods / grains or pasta (which afforded me a 3 pound weight loss!!) I decided - a couple days ago I decided - to have pancakes!! My dad was a star pancake maker and I fancy myself a bit of a pancake pro but in the name of efficiency (an essential with a toddler about) I tried out the Betty Crocker 'shake n make' (just add water) ready mix. This allowed me to also easily calculate the calories (116 per 1/6 of the mixture). I made four pancakes - one for my son then three for me!!! I couldn't eat them all though. I had some of one with blueberries (topped with a little maple syrup and cream), some of another with lemon and sugar and finally most of the third topped with my favourite - golden syrup, peaches and cream. Whoa!
All together I had a 450 calorie breakfast! I felt soooo full afterwards and was actually looking forward to my Zumba class due three hours later. No morning tea needed this day!
